CoCo Ichibanya // 1 Utama

If you are one of those
that fire out flamethrower like Charmander after eating curry that gives you
too much heat, you might want to check this place out!
Located at 1 Utama
Shopping Centre lower ground, CoCo Ichibanya is a curry specialist that caters
to all foodies (be it mild or ultra-spicy).
CoCo Ichibanya offered a
wide varieties from curry rice to pasta. Curry lovers will get to customise their
favourite combination from rice and curry quantity, toppings and veggies topped
with miso soup and salad.
You might find the price
a little steep but I assure you that it is worth a try.
My family and I went
straight to what they recommended in the menu.
Since all of us ordered
something meaty, we choose two salad to balance it out.
Salmon Salad RM10 |
First up was the smoked
salmon salad. The salad was crisp and fresh while the salmon slices were
adequate with the price.
Pumpkin + Bacon Salad RM 8 |
Pumpkin and bacon salad
surprised us with its creamy texture and savoury taste. We hardly use the
dressing as the toppings was good enough to pair with the salad.
All of us opted for hot
curry as we enjoyed the spices but prefer just a little heat when it comes to
Japanese curry.
Grilled Squid Curry Rice RM24 |
Although the grilled
squid curry rice didn’t look very appetizing in the picture but it was clearly
out of my expectation! The combination sounded a little strange but the taste
was surprisingly harmonious.
The squid was juicy and
tender while the mayo brought out the flavour of the squid. It is a taste you can’t
find elsewhere.
Pork Cutlet Curry Rice RM21 |
Pork cutlet curry rice
was up to standard, giving a hearty stamina boost with moist and succulent strips
that went well with the curry gravy which was flavourful and aromatic.
Omelette Pork Cutlet Curry Rice RM26 |
Upgraded pork cutlet curry
rice was even better! The hot rice was covered with fluffy velvety omelette, pork cutlet and curry gravy. The "fuwa fuwa" eggs was delightful and very satisfying when combined with the pork strips, comforting and warm for hungry tummy.
Omelette Hayashi Rice RM 25 |
Beef Hayashi Omelette rice was nothing curry but still great with its distinct and rich beefy taste.
We managed to finished the pickled served on our table as it matched really well with the curry, refreshing our palette while the hot spice enhanced the curry gravy and allowed us to eat more.
Blueberry Smoothie RM11 (sorry, ugly picture) |
The blueberry smoothie was fresh and cooling, a good choice after some heat.
Nevertheless, I thought CoCo Ichibanya was satisfactory and if you are looking for something new, do try it out!
