Seremban x Port Dickson // One Day Trip
8:56 PMThere's no need for a reason when it comes to a weekend food trip.
So off we went to Negeri Sembilan to hunt for some good food!
1. Pasar Besar Seremban
We reach this place about 9 am on a Sunday morning and it was rather packed.
This is the time where your friend showed off his parking skills with limited parking spots and narrow roads due to cars double parking.
Went on the first floor to get our stomach filled and these were what we ordered.
The beef noodle at Stall 748 was really famous but somewhat I just don't get the hype. The taste was decent but hardly anything to shout out. The "lai fun" was springy and combined with the gravy it was smooth with the aroma of sesame seeds, scallions and chopped sour pickle vegetables. It had it's own unique flavour and the beef tendon and slices were tender enough. Maybe I'm just not a die hard fan of beef noodles.
Dry Beef Noodles RM 7 ( Stall 748) |
Tow Kee Hakka Mee (Stall 810) |
My favourite among the three.
Squid Beehoon RM4.00 (Stall 753) |
Initially, we have another stop at Restoran Asia for curry laksa before this. Unfortunately, it was closed at the day we were visiting.
Not a fan of centipede. |

Journey to the West Crew |
Just chilling! |
3. Taman Rekreasi Seremban / Taman Tasik Seremban
We passed by this place while going to Tze Koon Temple, so we had a little pit stop.
This park was really well maintained that it would put parks in KL to shame.
It was nice to take a stroll and even for picnics! There was also a group of people throwing a party.
4. Haji Shariff's Cendol
We dropped by Haji Shariff's Cendol while deciding where to have our lunch.
There were already people streaming in the shop although it was barely noon.
You will have to help yourself at respective counter at Haji Shariff's for rojak and cendol.
I personally enjoyed their fried fritters in the rojak a lot! It was crispy, fresh and non greasy. The gravy was on point and the spicy burning after taste was addictive.

ABC Shave Ice |
We went over to this place as we wanted something heavier but cheap.
Do take note that this place only opens from Thursday to Sunday.
Of course, we ordered their 3 flavour fish as it was their specialty.
The fish was fresh and moist, it was still juicy after getting on the grill.
We get to taste the fish with fried shallots, minced ginger and garlic and sambal.
My personal favourite would be fried shallots as I thought it brought out the sweetness of the fish. They also topped the whole dish with their special sticky sauce which was pretty good.
3 Flavour Fish RM37 |
Otak- otak RM12 |
Grilled Tofu RM 6 |
Stir fry Sweet Potato Leaves RM 12 |
They have stuffed crabs too! |
After a stuffed meal, we thought of taking a walk/ stroll around Port Dickson beach where we stumbled upon this garden theme restaurant. It is situated beside Avillion Resort.
We wanted some dessert but the kitchen was close by the time we arrived. We just lingered for a while to look at their menu and I reckoned it will be a big hit among couples as the ambience was classy and westernized.
7. Kedai Teh'O 50 Sen
We immediately stopped by once we saw this little stall on the side after we left from The Verte
(about 200m away) as it had a big sign of Coconut Shake!
Besides, the name of the stall was pretty quirky too and yes, you can have both iced tea and hot tea for RM0.50 each only.
The local community seems to dine in there. It was just a simple stall and it took us quite sometime before the coconut shake was served.
Coconut Shake RM 3 |
8. Lucky King Bun
After a little stroll, our stomach made enough space for another round of food. Since we were already in PD, we went over to try out the chicken curry bun. We went to the original branch instead of the AC one in Seremban.
I would say this was the best chicken curry bun that I had. Better than the one in Kampar.
The curry was rich and creamy and there was tons of potato and chicken in it!
Also, the chicken was succulent and tender.
The buns was also fluffy and had that familiar old school taste. (those bread that you get from a Chinese Bakery)
Very filling portion for four of us.

Flower Petal Bread |
9. Kee Mei Siew Pau
And of course, Siew Pau was obligatory when you were in Seremban.
We went over to get some for ourselves and also for family and friends.
I enjoyed their durian puff quite a lot. The custard was filled at every corner of the choux puff and it was creamy and durian-licious.
The custard was more on the sweet side as compare to Taste Better (the famous on in Malacca) and on the denser side.
I should get more of it the next time!
Durian Puff RM1.60 |
I always like my siew pau with a little sweet crust glaze on the outer layer and this was just nice. Plus, it was fresh from the oven.
Pork Siew Pau RM 1.70 |
10. Empayar Seremban Siew Pau
My friend brought me here just to do a comparison for the siew pau.
I tried the flaky siew pau which empayar proclaimed to be the first that created this.
I felt the pastry wasn't cook thoroughly which ended with a floury taste and the filling was a little sad.
There were a handful of people buying souvernirs from here though.
Flaky Siew Pau RM1.60 |
All in all, I had a great time chilling in Seremban and Port Dickson and I only spent about RM 57 after petrol, food and souvenirs! It was better than chilling in the mall.
Thank to my very tall friend for the photos! |
Thank you for reading.
