You don't have to be a good cook to impress your family and friends with a satisfying breakfast. In this post, I will show you how to prepare this quick and easy breakfast quesadilla. In addition, it looks very instagram-mable!
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients (serves 2 pax)
4 sheets of tortilla ( flavour of your choice)
4 strips of bacon
2 eggs
A handful of shredded cheese of your choice
Onion (or any vegetable of your choice)
Condiments such as mayonnaise, mustard or ketchup
Steps:
1. Cut bacon strips into half and pan fried until fragrant. Serve aside when is done.
2. Slice onions into thin strips.
3. Cut a hole out for two of the tortilla sheets.
There's no need for the heart shape. Round shape is fine. |
4. Heat the pan with a little bit of oil.
5. Place the tortilla in the pan and crack an egg at the hole and put a little cheese and bacon around the side of the tortilla. Serve aside once the egg is set.
6. Put in another sheet of tortilla (no cut) in the pan and spread on the condiments, putting on the cheese and the onions.
7. Once the cheese starts to melt, lay the tortilla sheets with egg on top of it.
8. Serve while hot. Seasoned with pepper and garnish with scallion if desire.

Tips:
1. There's no need for oil if you are using non-stick pan when you are frying the bacon as the bacon itself has a lot of grease.
2. After experimenting, I realized fresh cut onions are better than caramelized one. Is less fuss and gives the quesadilla a nice crunch.
3.The total time of cooking will be 15 minute if you are familiar with cooking. If you are a new cook, take your time and don't rush yourself.
4. I use mustard in my attempt but mayonnaise tastes pretty good too if you like a creamy texture.
5. You are free to use any of your favourite ingredients in this recipe as quesadilla is rather versatile.
6.. Quesadilla is a Mexican sandwich made out of cheese and savoury filled tortilla. It is pronunce as keh-sah-DEE-yah.
I hope you guys like this post and do give me some feedback on what do you like me to cook on the next post.
Good luck in trying!
